1- Use of glubran 2 in ophthalmic surgery

The structures of the eyeball in pets – in particular, the cornea – frequently present diseases of traumatic, infectious or degenerative origin. The most serious corneal lesions consist of abrasions, ulcers, wounds and perforation (Morales et al., 1996). Various techniques may be adopted to correct the defects associated with corneal lesions. One such technique involves the use of synthetic glues (Peruccio et al., 1984). Cyanoacrylates are the only synthetic glues found to be endowed with physicochemical and biological properties that make them medically useful (Lamborn, 1970).
